Last Weekend

Go Hilltoppers!

Matilda loves the Red Sox
Inside the Opryland Hotel. So cool and HUGE!

Lewis had the weekend off, and he has been wanting to go to a Western Kentucky University basketball game. Our BIL Brian is a huge fan (he and Jackie went to school there). SO, Saturday morning we loaded into the car---so nice to all fit in one car--and drove up to Bowling Green. After a visit to the mall, a bookstore, and a Zappo's outlet (a huge disappointment to the shoe lover in me), we hit Mancino's for pizza and then the game. We all had a great time and B especially loved looking for Big Red (the mascot). He told me that he likes Big Red from far away only. We spent the night at Brian's sister's house in Nashville and went to the Opryland Hotel. It was so cool, all our pictures from there are from INSIDE!!! It was a really amazing place. Aiden told us she was pretending to be the Island Princess and she was pretending that we weren't there. Love the poses.

While Jackie was here

We made some quilts. She made one for Matilda (aka Mati aka Tilly) and I made matchy matchy ones for A and the big C. We also set up the crib because Matilda was visiting and it gave me an excuse to start nesting. Jackie's is really cute too, but I didn't take a picture. (don't look too close, especially if you are a quilter for real because I totally am not.)

I haven't been feeling like blogging......

.......because I only feel like itching!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently I need to be careful while being OCD about my crazy wild backyard. You see, in the last few weeks I have filled about 50 black garbage bags full of leaves, pine straw, and ivy and apparently some poison ivy, oak, or sumac. Lovely, huh! The bad news is that it's getting worse and seems to be spreading. I will spare you the belly shot, it's pretty GROSS, and just get back to that yard. I've probably got another 100 bags to fill and then we can try to plant grass. I'll be fully decked out from head to toe though, don't worry.

PS after posting this I realized these pictures make me look like a big wimp, but believe me, it looks worse in real life. you can ask anyone. i promise. i'm not a wimp. or a liar.

Williamsburg Pictures

Sophie and mePracticing being a big helper!
The "santa store", actually the Yankee Candle store, but you would have thought it was Disneyworld or something the way they kids loved it. We went 3 times!
Of all the cool things in Colonial Williamsburg, the kids seemed to like the storm grates the very best. We had to stop at each one and throw rocks and dirt in them.
Fischer's favorite part was all the horse poop!
"lambs, meet Lamby Lou"

This is the best shot I got of all the kids. Aren't they so cute?

We had a great time in Williamsburg. It is seriously such a neat place, and there is a HUGE outlet mall that would make anyone smile! :) After looking through my pictures I realized that I didn't take any of my sisters at all, sorry!

Should I be concerned?

Just say NO!

This one is just for you, Mom. (P.S. You're a champion)

"Becation"

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!! The kids and I have been gone for about a week, but are back at home now. Last week the kids, Moose and I drove up to Williamsburg to visit Jordan and her family and hopefully meet the new baby girl. Lucky for us, Jordan went into labor a few hours after we got there and sweet Sophie was born on Valentine's Day. And she's so cute. And incredibly quiet and did I mention cute? Jackie and Matilda met us there and drove home with us. It's so fun having them here for a few days. I will definitely have to blog some more about our trip, but I have to upload all those pictures first and hope that my camera will work (it's been having some "issues").
Before the kids and I left, Lewis and I got to go to an Indigo Girls concert. It was so great, we really enjoyed it and it was a nice little Valentine's date for us. Of course the Indigo Girls were awesome, it was really cool to see them in concert. The nice surprise for us was the opening act, Brandi Carlile. We really really loved her voice and she was so great in concert. Click here to see her in action.
